The reason Congress has become irrelevant is that its occupants are there to serve themselves, not you. How could it be otherwise if their expectations are that their mission is a career? This has led to a paralysis in advancing legislative fixes for the ills that plague the country. It’s a classic conflict of interest.
As a consequence of the Congress’s inability to represent the people who elected them and to enact legislation addressing the needs of the country, they are constantly deadlocked in debate, not so much over what is in the best interests of the country but what best serves their re-election. By the time Congress gets around to acting, the citizenry is suffering and in despair. The elite ruling class never suffers. They are insulated.
For example, presidential executive orders (EO) have grown exponentially because Congress is paralyzed. Washington to Adams issued no executive orders, as it was assumed that Congress would do its job. Even up to McKinley, EOs were rare. Then, with Teddy Roosevelt, it started ticking up. He had 150 per year. Then, with the most wicked president, Woodrow Wilson, it was 220 per year. With FDR, it went to 300 per year, and based on the current trajectory, Trump is on course for 400. The longer the EOs stay in place, the more likely they will be permanent. This is what happens when your legislature is paralyzed and deadlocked.
The longer the EOs stay around, the more accepted they are as “normal.” In Trump’s case, this is good news, but that is not the way it should be, so shame on Congress. They have rendered themselves irrelevant and are inept due to their patent corruption. But then, what would you expect when you elect radical leftists whose goal is the destruction of the Constitution and your freedoms? The public is the problem and the media that influences them, because there is no consequence or accountability for the leftist media for the lies and deceit they openly and unapologetically practice.
The dirty little secret as to the Democrat Left’s hatred of Trump is that the culture, not Congress, will make Trump’s EOs permanent, and the Democrats know it. However, you can thank God that it is Trump signing the orders and not the demonically influenced psychotics in the Democrat Party and from which we suffered under the four years of Biden.
